Scientists have given much time and thought to the study of insects. It needs the most careful and patient observation. Thanks to their discoveries we now know almost all there is to be known about the habits of those hard-working insects, bees and ants, which live in societies better planned in some ways then our own. But the most valuable work has been done in trying to give protection to men, animals and crops from the injury which insects cause.
